Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks
  • Experience with Epic (Applied Systems) or similar insurance agency management systems
  • Ability to review and improve processes across high volume data environments
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrates excellent time management, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a customer service mindset that drives teams towards superior outcomes
  • Strong communicator with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly; exercise sound independent judgement and creative problem-solving ability
  • Gathers and analyzes data to weigh alternatives and present logical solutions
  • Bachelor�s degree or equivalent required with 4�6 years of experience in Accounting or Finance, including 2�3 years of management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and QuickBooks required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Global Green and Brightway systems preferred
  • Insurance industry and Epic (Applied Systems) experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provides daily leadership to Accounting and Commissions staff.
  • Ensures effective, timely delivery of commission receivables from over 100 insurance carriers, commission payments to over 100 franchisees, pass-through charges, and other work products.
  • Oversees accurate entry, balancing, and finalization of QuickBooks financial statements and ensures the integrity of all general ledger activity.
  • Identifies system, process, and workflow enhancements.
  • Assigns and follows up on work across the department.
  • Inspires team to perform at the highest level with every request, every day.
  • Guide and oversee the Global Green Commissions and AP team
  • Oversees a team managing relationships with over 100 insurance carriers and over 100 franchisees
  • Writes job objectives, performance reviews, and salary recommendations
  • Conducts regular 1:1s to assess performance and identify development opportunities
  • Manages staff handling various requests and routine work
  • Serve as the point of contact for any escalations
  • Reports on activity and outcomes to manager
  • Supports management in delivering messages to employees
  • Lead team responsible for receiving, reconciling and paying commission statements; ensures payments are accurate and on time
  • Reconcile commission statements and ensures accurate transfer of commissions between Global Green and Brightway
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for direct bill commissions processes and related systems
  • Implement and oversee Epic (Applied Systems) commission deposit processes, ensuring accurate recording, timely posting, and proper reconciliation
  • Owns key components of the month-end close process, ensuring timely completion
  • Enter, balance, and finalize QuickBooks financial statements monthly, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and data is accurate prior to close
  • Ensures team reconciles the operating bank accounts
  • Collaborate with the Accounting department managers to ensure general ledger entries are accurate and processes remain current
  • Participates the Annual Accounting Audit
  • Maintains current and accurate procedure manuals for the department
  • Collaborate with the team and department leads to help improve processes and implement scalable automation as the company grows
  • Build relationships across departments to streamline workflows and ensure accounting and commissions processes are understood company-wide
  • Proactively identify improvements to deliver more accurate, actionable reporting, and a better work environment
  • Evaluates complex issues, performs analysis, and documents steps as training aids
  • Uses extensive background to solve complex, critical problems
  • Reviews junior analyst work for accuracy and provides constructive feedback
  • Fulfills requesters� needs and proactively surfaces related observations
  • Documents activities and follow ups in appropriate systems regularly and accurately
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
