About The Position

Global Director of Facilities Hypertherm Associates is searching for a Global Director of Facilities to join our team. The Director of Facilities is a strategic and operational leader responsible for the performance, reliability, and lifecycle/asset management of a global portfolio of approximately 1M square feet of owned and leased manufacturing, office, and customer-facing sites. As the Global Director of Facilities, you will: Lead a high-performing Building Maintenance & Repair Organization (MRO) and broader Workplace Services function, delivering best-in-class uptime, safety, sustainability, and employee/customer experience across properties in eight countries Lead and develop a team of 18 employees, primarily based at headquarters in New Hampshire, while partnering with business and regional leaders to support safe, efficient, standardized, and scalable operations. Mentor others on the effective use of building automation systems (BAS), industrial controls, and smart building technologies. Oversee facilities and administrative services, including reception, food service, janitorial, mail operations, badging, and coordination with Global Safety, Global Security, and Legal. Lead the Workplace Services & Amenities teams and vendor partners to build, sustain, and evolve a workplace culture that reflects Hypertherm values while aligning with local norms; support strategies that attract and retain top talent. Set the global vision and priorities for facilities and real estate, including lease renewals, capital improvements, construction, space planning, utilities, infrastructure maintenance, and sustainability initiatives. Lead planning and communication for capital projects, operating budgets, leases, and lease renewals across owned and leased global facilities, with oversight of compliance, quality, safety, ,security, and environmental stewardship. Provide financial leadership for facilities and administrative projects, managing operating budgets of $14M-$18M and annual capital budgets up to $10M. Drive enterprise alignment with the corporate workplace vision by setting strategic priorities, guiding key initiatives, and leading critical decision-making; translate departmental goals into forward-looking space and property utilization strategies. Drive long-term resource planning for utilities, waste reduction, and sustainability initiatives that create business value and cost savings.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • 10+ years of facilities management experience in a complex environment
  • Proven people leadership and team development skills
  • Strong budget management experience
  • Experience leading in a complex, cross-functional matrix organization
  • Strong written, verbal, and contract negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of building trades, including carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems
  • Strong experience with MRO, BAS, CMMS/EAM and other building management systems
  • Familiarity with real estate regulations and compliance requirements
  • Ability to select, negotiate, and manage large service and construction contracts
  • Ability to travel globally 4-6 times per year

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Experience managing facilities in a large, complex global organization
