About The Position

This role is responsible for developing, negotiating, and implementing strategies, plans, policies, and procedures to ensure the technical leadership of Branson technologies. This includes existing product lines as well as the development of new products and technologies. The strategies will be developed in conjunction with the Value Creation and Profitability Review process and programs supervised through the Global Engineering Team. The position leads a China organization responsible for material joining product design and development, sustaining engineering, and global welding programs, ensuring technological capabilities align with Growth and Profitability objectives. The role also maintains sound engineering concepts and standards of design and quality, directs the company's patent and technology license activities, and ensures the establishment and administration of sound quality controls under ISO. Additionally, it involves planning human resources, capital, and expenses, and collaborating with Human Resources on human resource development, including recruiting, training, and succession planning. The role represents Branson Ultrasonics in negotiations with government or industry on technology matters, stays informed on relevant legislation, and assists universities with work training programs. It also involves developing strategic plans for portfolio management with Marketing, leading the New Product Development funnel, and supporting China/Asia Operations with technical support. Finally, the role represents Branson China/Asia in global responsibilities.

Requirements

BA/BS Degree in one or more Engineering and Science field of study
Relevant years of professional experience commensurate with the level of this position
Knowledge of Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, and principles of business and technology.
Experience as managerial contributions in Engineering, Research and Development within a manufacturing industrial enterprise.
Excellent organizational and communication (written and oral) skills
Proven track record of successful new product development.
Able to travel 30% to meet business needs

Responsibilities

Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies, plans, policies, and procedures to ensure the technical leadership of Branson technologies, including existing product lines and new product/technology development.
Lead a China organization responsible for material joining product design and development, sustaining engineering, and global welding programs, ensuring technological capabilities meet Growth and Profitability objectives.
Maintain sound engineering concepts and standards of design and quality in new product development and improvement of existing products.
Direct the Company’s patent and technology license activities, including technical papers, publications, patent disclosures, applications, licenses, and negotiating agreements to protect proprietary technology and license its use or acquire outside technology.
Ensure the establishment and administration of sound quality controls for continued certification and compliance of the technology function under ISO.
Plan and implement plans for human resources, capital, and expenses to optimally meet business and functional objectives.
In conjunction with Human Resources, manage human resource development, including recruiting, training, advising, appraising, mentoring, promoting, succession planning, terminating, and compensation activities, while fostering an inclusive environment with high morale.
Represent Branson Ultrasonics in negotiations with government or industry on technology matters, stay advised on legislation affecting product development, and assist universities with work training programs.
Develop strategic plans for portfolio management with Marketing, including recommendations on joint ventures, acquisitions, divestitures, and product line expansions; lead the New Product Development funnel to meet NPD results and drive innovation.
Support China/Asia Operations, including Quality, Service, and Application Teams, with technical support and solutions.
Represent Branson China/Asia in Global responsibilities, including engineering symposiums, task forces, and Technology Conferences.
