About The Position

Mercer's Employee Experience & Engagement practice is at a critical juncture, moving beyond traditional surveys to become a leader in workforce intelligence and human performance. This role is for a Managing Director/Partner to globally lead this practice, shaping its strategy, solutions, thought leadership, and partnerships. The success of this leader will be measured by the growth and success of the practice in the regions, driven by their strategic direction and influence.

Requirements

  • Senior consulting or industry leader with typically 15+ years of experience.
  • Deep credibility in employee experience, engagement, talent, or adjacent workforce domains.
  • Clear point of view on the value employee listening and workforce intelligence can bring to companies.
  • Track record of leading through influence in a matrixed global organization.
  • Demonstrated wins at the CHRO/C-suite level.
  • Evidence of selling beyond products into advisory and transformation work.
  • Personal credibility as a practitioner, with clients seeking them by name for their thinking and delivery.
  • Clear point of view on the future of employee experience, engagement, and workforce intelligence, including fluency with AI's impact.
  • Track record of building global communities of practice and raising capability.
  • Comfort being a public voice (media, stage, written thought leadership) within a global brand.
  • Global mindset; experience working across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategic agenda for the Employee Experience & Engagement practice worldwide and sit on the global Talent Advisory leadership team.
  • Define the multi-year roadmap, partnership and product strategy, and align the practice behind a coherent point of view.
  • Equip markets with sharper offers, better proposals, stronger sales materials, and differentiated thinking to drive commercial impact.
  • Partner closely with regional and country leaders on large opportunities and participate in key pursuits.
  • Engage personally on strategic global client relationships, focusing on CHRO/C-suite conversations about hybrid work, AI adoption, productivity, and future workforce needs.
  • Evolve the solution set to integrate listening, intelligence, and action, working with product, data science, and AI teams to embed predictive and generative capabilities.
  • Lead the global practice community, focusing on capability building in diagnostics, AI-enabled workforce intelligence, behavioral science, organizational design, and measurable business impact.
  • Set the bar for excellence, build learning paths and certifications, attract senior talent, and foster a desirable community for top professionals.
  • Own the practice's most important external partnerships with technology providers, academic institutions, and research bodies.
  • Lead global initiatives such as flagship research, signature offerings, and large transformation programs.
  • Act as a visible external face of Mercer on the future of work, employee experience, and workforce intelligence, shaping the company's point of view.
  • Drive commercial outcomes through regional teams in a matrixed global organization.
