Within the Portfolio, Strategy, and Insights (PSI) team, you will act as a strategic partner and advisor, guiding Roche's product, disease area, pharma, and corporate strategy. The PSI team, which includes Advanced Analytics for Business Insights (AABI), Competitive Intelligence, Ecosystem Insights (EI), Partnering Commercial Assessment Leads, and Pharma Portfolio & Strategy, provides consistent, targeted, and technology-driven insights to support informed decision-making across the enterprise. This includes unbiased, expertly curated intelligence for lifecycle management, commercialization excellence, and portfolio strategies. The Global Ecosystem Insights (EI) team is seeking a Beyond Therapeutic Area (TA) Market Insights Leader to help shape Roche's Pharma strategy through market, portfolio, and customer-centric insights. This role functions as an internal consultant and strategist, collaborating with commercial and cross-functional leaders to generate insights that span across Therapeutic Areas and influence cross-portfolio decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) and a minimum of 10 years (or equivalent with advanced education) of Pharma/Biotech commercial insights experience required.
  • Mastery of the applications, strengths, and limitations of qualitative / quantitative market research techniques, secondary data analyses and advanced insights generation frameworks.
  • Demonstrated history of applying advanced market research methodologies and innovations to solve complex business problems and drive continuous improvement of operations, tools and methodologies.
  • Critical thinker capable of navigating TA, portfolio, and enterprise level complexities.
  • Ability to translate research and analysis into concise, compelling business recommendations.
  • Proven ability to connect disparate data points from across the enterprise to form a cohesive strategic narrative.
  • Adept at shaping commercialization strategies by influencing senior stakeholders without authority.
  • Expert at bridging various functional and geographic groups to build strong partnerships.
  • Experienced in developing, generating buy-in and piloting innovative solutions or novel tools and systems.
  • Ability to generate new ideas/approaches that address business needs and drive creation / adoption of best practices.
  • Comfortable translating high-level intent into actionable roadmaps and leading initiatives confidently through uncertainty and resistance.
  • A track record of transformation impact through initiatives at the department/functional level, and/or broader organizational level.

Responsibilities

  • Operationalize industry-leading methodologies in primary and secondary market research to guide strategic decisions.
  • Lead innovative projects and workstreams that pioneer new methodologies, apply new technologies, and create analyses that shape development and commercial strategy.
  • Partner extensively within EI and other PSI teams to drive engagement, embed enhancements, and realize the full value of developed solutions.
  • Navigate a complex global matrix to align cross-functional partners around high-impact, insight-driven deliverables.
  • Elevate the quality and impact of EI deliverables by advancing research practices across primary and secondary sources.
  • Ensure research remains best-in-class by implementing high-impact methodologies and tools that allow insights to directly inform and accelerate strategic business decisions.
  • Design and execute a multi-year roadmap to evolve Primary Market Research and secondary insights capabilities.
  • Lead pilots for innovative research engines and scale successful methodologies globally, ensuring the insights infrastructure is agile, scalable, and ahead of industry trends.
  • Lead the generation of strategic insights on themes with multi-TA impact, such as Digital Health, Drug Delivery, and next-generation commercialization models.
  • Connect the dots across the portfolio to unlock business value.
  • Define the gold standard for Market Research within EI.
  • Design and deliver a comprehensive curriculum to ensure capabilities remain industry-leading and future-proof.
  • Serve as the primary lead for partnerships with key strategic vendors, ensuring high-quality delivery and partnership excellence.
  • Uphold the integrity of research by overseeing established compliance frameworks and optimizing processes to ensure all activities consistently adhere to global standards.
