About The Position

New Energy Nexus (NEX) is an international NGO that supports climate solutions and builds a more equitable clean energy economy by providing clean-energy entrepreneurs with funding, accelerators, and networks. Founded in California in 2004, NEX operates across China, India, Southeast Asia, East and West Africa, and Australia. It has leveraged US$5.4 billion in investment and supported more than 11,000 entrepreneurs. The Global Director of Impact & Knowledge Management champions NEX’s ambition to be a learning organization and leads its global Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) function. The Director owns the global MEL framework, works with leadership to refine and maintain the global Theory of Change (TOC), and serves as the organization’s subject matter expert on TOC development and evaluation. The role supports country offices, programs, and initiatives in aligning their work with the global framework and helps the network demonstrate its collective impact to funders, partners, and the clean-energy entrepreneurship ecosystem. NEX has an established global MEL framework, indicators, and supporting systems. The Director oversees implementation across the network, provides strategic guidance and practical support to chapters and programs, and strengthens the framework as programs, geographies, partnerships, and priorities evolve. The role makes impact work practical through clear definitions, light-touch templates, coaching, and demonstrating how data informs decisions, funding, and program improvement. It partners closely with Strategy, Development, and Communications. The Director leads global impact strategy, TOC, and MEL; supports chapter and country-office capacity building; and leads knowledge management, data architecture, and impact reporting. Responsibilities include maintaining the global impact database, strengthening data governance and quality, integrating knowledge systems, and applying AI responsibly to MEL and organizational learning. The position also helps ensure accurate, consistent impact figures and supports the collection and use of stories and case studies with informed consent. This is a full-time remote position. Relocation assistance is not available. Compensation is competitive for the candidate’s market, and applicable medical, dental, vision, paid time off, paid holidays, and insurance benefits depend on the selected candidate’s location. Qualified applicants will participate in two to three interviews via Zoom. New Energy Nexus is an equal employment opportunity employer and encourages diverse applicants to apply.
