The Global Director, Human Resources role will serve as a business partner and thought leader, driving the people strategy for designated global business units. This role aligns talent priorities with business objectives to enable growth, operational excellence, and organizational effectiveness across a complex manufacturing environment. This position will partner closely with senior leaders to shape workforce strategy, build leadership capability, and foster a high-performance, inclusive culture. This individual brings a balance of strategic vision and hands-on execution, translating enterprise priorities into actionable HR solutions. Qualified candidates must be able to work a hybrid schedule at our Bloomington, MN office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including direct HR business partner leadership
  • Experience supporting senior leaders in a complex, matrixed organization
  • Strong business acumen with experience in manufacturing, industrial, or similarly operational environments
  • Demonstrated experience in organizational design, talent management, and change leadership
  • Experience managing employee relations in a multi-site or global environment

  • Master’s degree (MBA or HR-related field)
  • Experience in a global manufacturing organization with 5,000+ employees
  • Proven ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Prior experience supporting P&L ownership or business unit leadership teams
  • Strong background in workforce planning and analytics-driven decision-making
  • Experience leading large-scale transformation or cultural change initiatives
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR)
  • Exposure to international labor practices and cross-cultural leadership

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, providing strategic HR guidance aligned to business goals
  • Develop and execute people strategies that enable growth, productivity, and organizational transformation
  • Leverage data and insights to inform decision-making and anticipate workforce needs
  • Drive talent management processes including succession planning, leadership development, and performance management
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure effective workforce planning and hiring strategies
  • Build leadership capability at all levels, with a focus on frontline and plant leadership in manufacturing environments
  • Lead organizational design, restructuring, and change management initiatives
  • Enable high-performing teams through culture, engagement, and capability-building efforts
  • Champion inclusion and employee experience initiatives across global teams
  • Provide guidance on complex employee relations matters, ensuring consistency and risk mitigation
  • Partner with COEs (Compensation, Benefits, Talent, HR Operations) to deliver scalable solutions
  • Ensure compliance with global and local labor laws and regulations
  • Lead and support transformation initiatives, including business integrations, restructuring, and process improvements
  • Drive adoption of new programs, technologies, and ways of working
