About The Position

Manage an assigned portfolio of Global Corporate clients. Responsibilities include working with Corporate Banking and other groups to facilitate and enhance the credit process through efficient and value-add support to partners, including onboarding activities, and execution of new transactions, amendments and extensions; manage a full range of credit, trading and transactional products; compliant funding; excess management; and annual reviews. Resolve credit issues with various banking units and Group Risk Management as required and provide advice as warranted.

Requirements

  • Work experience in a credit risk role/function
  • Academic background with a university degree, other professional designation or relevant work experience.
  • Strong financial risk analysis and/or accounting skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage competing demands.
  • Excellent written and spoken communications abilities
  • Ability to work in an interactive team environment
  • Strong general PC skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of LMA style credit documentation
  • CFA accreditation

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely preparation of (i) credit transaction requests (which may include but not limited to new credits, restructurings, renewals, amendments, waivers, loan documentation reviews and cash management), (ii) annual reviews and regularisations of an assigned portfolio of Corporate Borrowers and credit facilities ensuring accurate data integrity
  • Use bank policies/guidelines and judgement to manage daily excesses, over-limit payments in accordance with Delegated Authorities and, managing ongoing credit relationships within RBC providing fair, specific and balanced advice.
  • Work closely and maintain positive relationships with Corporate Banking, Group Risk Management, Loan Portfolio Management, Risk Solutions Group and the Loan Administration team
  • Other projects or assignments as required which will possibly include portfolio reviews where analytical, research, strategic and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Keep up to date on policy changes/updates and participate in team deliverables with respect to regulatory/audit priorities.
  • Demonstrate a client service mindset while negotiating documentation, booking new credit lines and credit surveillance and operationally managing your lending portfolio
  • Employ an efficiency mindset and look for opportunities to increase automation, and /or to create capacity by reduction in low impact work.
  • Develop expertise in assigned portfolio, policies and guidelines, and provide value added advice to internal partners.
  • Willingly share knowledge and provide guidance to others on the team, as well as other business partners
