About The Position

Deutsche Bank is seeking an experienced Associate to join the NBFI Coverage team in New York. This role involves supporting lead coverage bankers in developing and maintaining strong client relationships with Non-Bank Financial Institution clients. The position requires analyzing clients, compiling competitor data, creating pitch book presentations, and assisting clients with service-related queries. The Associate will gain a deep understanding of origination processes, product offerings, and internal reporting. A key responsibility will be supporting the growth of the Insurance sector vertical, assisting the sector head with origination, strategy, compliance, KYC due diligence, business management, and risk management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience within financial services, preferably Corporate Banking.
  • Understanding and interest in Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs).
  • Experience at Associate level in a comparable role.
  • Pro-active networking skills and an accessible approach to working with colleagues across the business and in other regions.
  • Good project management skills and ability to work autonomously.
  • Understanding of credit fundamentals for NBFI clients (preferably Insurance).
  • Strong quantitative, numerical, and analytical skills with Excel-based modeling experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex problems into elegant and concise conclusions.
  • Strong commitment to integrity, professionalism, and teamwork.
  • Understanding of KYC, AML, risk management and risk mitigation.
  • Academic degree with outstanding credentials and relevant finance or economics experience.
  • FINRA Series 63 and 79 license holders preferred (will be required).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Deutsche Bank is the provider of choice for clients and explore all avenues for working with clients across different geographies and products, in cooperation with Global Coverage Bankers (GCB).
  • Support the execution of the Global NBFI coverage strategy, including all NBFI sectors.
  • Assist senior bankers in coverage, origination, and relationship management for NBFI clients, focusing on Corporate Bank solutions like Cash Management, Trust & Securities Services, FX & Rates Hedging, Strategic Corporate Lending, and Trade Finance & Lending.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing materials and the growth of Deutsche Bank’s NBFI Coverage franchise and market reputation.
  • Maintain high standards in producing internal and external materials, including pitch decks, product pamphlets, brochures, strategy, and business review pages.
  • Participate actively in client dialogues alongside GCBs, driving meeting preparations and follow-ups, and at times leading execution discussions or acting as a proxy for GCBs.
  • Develop productive relationships with colleagues across divisions to ensure seamless client service.
  • Pro-actively develop an understanding of Corporate Bank products and solutions for NBFIs.
  • Build and maintain industry, market, and regulatory expertise for NBFIs and Insurance clients to identify revenue opportunities.
  • Support the client onboarding process, including KYC and control procedures, and respond to stakeholder queries.
  • Establish and maintain KYC profiles and other required client information in accordance with Bank policies and procedures.
