About The Position

The Opportunity: To achieve an organization’s mission, leaders need strong team members who will support the design, planning, and execution of research programs and projects that aim to drive transformative health outcomes. This role will help manage activities related to international data partnerships, execution of research programs, and support across several technical domains. That is why we need an experienced Global Biosecurity Advisor like you who can analyze every aspect of our customers’ needs and provide high-quality support. As part of our team, you'll serve as a strategic technical advisor to the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), helping conceptualize, create, and execute advanced government-funded research and development (R&D) programs to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone. You’ll work with world-class scientists and engineers to support the development of high-impact solutions to society's most challenging health problems, and leverage technical expertise to provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support to senior ARPA-H decision makers. You’ll also maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, assisting with the management of current programs, and facilitating commercialization of successfully developed technologies. Serving as a Global Biosecurity Advisor, you’ll help clients accelerate their mission. Your attention to detail, flexibility, communication skills, understanding of the client's mission, and problem-solving will enable the mission's success. What You’ll Work On: Support the design, planning, and execution of research programs and projects that aim to drive transformative health outcomes. Support and build international data partnerships. Collaborate with international stakeholders to advance ARPA-H initiatives. Conduct scientific and technical analyses of emerging biomedical, biotechnology, and health-related technologies to inform R&D strategy and program concepts across multiple domains. Evaluate performer capabilities, technical approaches, milestones, and risks within ARPA-H programs. Provide subject matter expertise in several technical domains such as neuroscience, molecular biology, systems biology, genomics, data analytics, bioengineering, or biosecurity-relevant technologies. Coordinate across ARPA-H offices to support integrated program development, progress assessment, and transition strategies. Support agency responses, strategy development, and implementation planning related to health innovation, global biosecurity, biomedical technologies, and advanced research initiatives. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience supporting or advising R&D activities in scientific, technical, or health environments
  • 5+ years of experience in biomedical research, clinical research, laboratory science, or advanced health technology development
  • Experience supporting an ARPA organization such as DARPA, ARPA-H, ARPA-E, or IARPA
  • Experience building international data partnerships
  • Experience with cutting-edge biomedical innovation, including neuroscience, molecular biology, frontier technology governance, biotechnology development, data and privacy considerations, or system-level technology assessment
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical approaches to product development across science, engineering, or technology strategy domains
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Doctorate degree in a Science field
