The Company: Pacific Aerospace & Electronics (PacAero) is seeking a Glass Seal Technician to join our team! PacAero is primarily located in Wenatchee, WA with a remote manufacturing site, Bonded Metals, located in Sequim, WA. Working together, we employ proprietary technologies, best practices engineering, and specialized manufacturing techniques to produce hermetic connectors and electronic packaging that perform in the world’s most extreme environments. PacAero’s products are hard at work in medical components, such as cardiac-function devices, on key aerospace & defense programs, in space and deep below the earth's surface. The Position: Job Summary Working under general supervision, Glass Seal Technician I is responsible for hermetically sealing electronic contacts and feedthroughs with high temperature glass to customer specifications. This role also involves performing measurements and visual inspections to ensure product quality and adhering to safety and production standards. Schedule: Mon-Thurs, 5am to 3:30pm

Requirements

  • Due to ITAR Requirements, all PacAero employees must be classified as US Persons and are required to show proof upon hire. Responsibilities

  • Observe safety regulations and follow protective equipment requirements. Report hazardous observations to your lead or supervisor.
  • Must be able to retain information and show continued progression of growth towards Level II.
  • The ability to find and interpret Engineering Drawings to correctly determine requirements.
  • Develop strong understanding of the quality requirements of individual components and the finished product.
  • Develop strong understanding of the Workmanship Quality Standards of the glass seals per WQS-200.
  • Learn to use the correct tools, equipment, Shop Processes (SP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as required.
  • In-process visual inspections of components and assemblies under a microscope to confirm compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform assembly processes as required to prep, load, and seal RF connectors.
  • Develop strong understanding of the Oxide, De-oxide, and De-carb processes relative to successful glass-to-metal sealing.
  • Able to detect failure of tooling and equipment.
  • The ability to complete tasks in a reasonably timely manner.
  • Promote teamwork and cooperative effort
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and unobstructed work area
  • Understand and apply appropriate quality improvement processes
