About The Position

The Glass Panel Assembler is responsible for the precise assembly of glass front panels used on electronic products. This role requires exceptional attention to detail to ensure the cosmetic quality of each unit, with particular focus on cleanliness, alignment, and secure attachment of various mechanical and aesthetic components. The assembler works with materials such as glass, anodized aluminum extrusions, metal brackets, plastic inserts, buttons, foam tape, and RTV adhesives, following detailed work instructions to produce high-quality assemblies that meet customer and company standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of assembly experience in a precision or cosmetic assembly environment preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity for handling delicate and aesthetic components.
  • Familiarity with adhesive application, RTV silicone, and foam tape bonding processes preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, engineering drawings, and visual standards.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble glass front panels and related subcomponents according to work instructions, assembly drawings, and bill of materials.
  • Install metal brackets, plastic squares, anodized extrusions, buttons, and other small parts with precision and care.
  • Apply foam tape, RTV glue, and other adhesives cleanly and accurately to specified areas.
  • Always ensure dust-free and smudge-free assembly of glass surfaces and meter windows.
  • Utilization of hand tools and powered screwdrivers to ensure proper fit, alignment, and bonding of components.
  • Perform visual inspections throughout assembly to verify cleanliness, surface finish, and part alignment.
  • Handle all glass components using appropriate equipment and cleaning procedures to avoid fingerprints, contamination, or scratching.
  • Identify and report any cosmetic defects, damage, or misalignment prior to final assembly.
  • Maintain a clean and controlled work environment to minimize dust and debris.
  • Record completed operations, part numbers, and quantities.
  • Follow all procedures for handling adhesives and cleaning agents safely and effectively.
  • Adhere to all assembly and curing times for RTV or bonding agents as specified in the process documentation.
