About The Position

The Glass Extruder Operator folds spacer frames and hangs them for the next step in the window insulation process. The operator catches spacer frames as they exit the extruder machine, folds them, interlocks the key with the other end of the spacer, and hangs them on a conveyor for the next operator. The role requires following production schedules to stay organized and keep the team working at the same pace. The listed pay is $17.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Ability to read dial calipers.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to stay organized.
• Ability to set up the machine for production and change barrels as needed.
• Ability to perform repetitive arm motions above shoulder level throughout the shift.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow production schedules.
• Catch spacer frames as they exit the extruder machine.
• Fold spacer frames and interlock the key with the other end of the spacer.
• Hang completed spacer frames on the conveyor for the next operator.
• Set up the machine for production and change barrels as needed.
