About The Position

The GL Accounting Manager will oversee general ledger activities for prepaid expenses, accounts payable, accruals, liabilities, and property, plant, and equipment. This role partners closely with Technical Accounting, Finance, IT, R&D, and the AP team to ensure accurate, timely, and well-supported accounting and financial reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger, close, prepaids, accruals, AP, and PPE accounting.
  • Experience reviewing technology, IT, engineering, or R&D contracts with Technical Accounting or business partners.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, account reconciliations, capitalization policies, and close controls.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion is preferred), fixed asset subledgers, prepaid schedules, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience supporting SOX compliance and internal or external audits.
  • Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with U.S. and international teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly close for prepaid expenses, AP, accruals, and PPE, including journal entries, reconciliations, roll-forwards, and variance analysis.
  • Review IT and R&D contracts with Technical Accounting to determine the appropriate accounting treatment, including prepaid, expense, capitalization, and accrual conclusions.
  • Maintain accurate prepaid schedules and roll-forwards.
  • Lead the AP/accrual process, including completeness reviews, supporting-documentation requirements, reversals, and cutoff analysis.
  • Oversee the PPE subledger and accounting for capital additions, construction in progress, transfers, disposals, depreciation, impairment indicators, and physical asset counts.
  • Partner with the AP Manager in Malaysia to reconcile prepaids, invoices, payments, accruals, and intercompany or cross-functional balances.
  • Establish and maintain effective close controls, account-reconciliation standards, and SOX documentation for assigned accounts.
  • Support external audit by preparing schedules, explaining account activity, and resolving audit requests.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and systems for prepaids, accruals, AP, and PPE.
  • Provide guidance to accounting team members and coordinate deadlines across U.S. and international teams.
