About The Position

We’re hiring a Giving Advisor. Requirements

  • Genuine interest in and enthusiasm for OPB’s public service mission, vision and organizational values, prepared to contribute to a people-centered environment where colleagues and supporters thrive.
  • Three years successful fundraising or equivalent experience with evidence of increasing responsibility.
  • Successful experience in direct outreach and developing cultivation and solicitation strategies.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion and compliance with OPB and AFP ethics policies and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, oriented towards teamwork and collaboration.
  • Highly-organized, motivated, proactive and goal driven. Attention to accuracy and completeness of work.
  • Palpable curiosity and a growth mindset, oriented toward constant improvement and learning. Adaptable, flexible, and able to thrive in a changing environment.
  • Technologically savvy, with fluent use of business software systems including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and fundraising CRMs.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with mid-level giving programs and donor-centered fundraising practices.
  • Experience using Salesforce or other CRM or marketing database to manage fundraising portfolio.
  • Conversant in complex giving methods and best practices (e.g. qualified charitable distributions from investment retirement accounts, donations from donor-advised funds, gifts of securities).
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Bilingual in English and another language, preferably one spoken in communities in the Pacific Northwest (for example, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese and Russian).

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with a portfolio of approximately 500 Cornerstone Society and Club KMHD donors and prospects to secure new and increased levels of support.
  • Execute mid-level giving strategies to advance donors’ relationships with OPB and KMHD in partnership with the Associate Director, Philanthropy.
  • Research, implement, assess, and report on effectiveness of mid-level strategies and tactics.
  • Establish and achieve metrics for meaningful contacts, prospect advancement and revenue generation to meet project goals and unit goals.
  • Track donor plans and interactions in Salesforce CRM.
  • Partner with Philanthropy and Planned Giving Advisors to qualify, steward and solicit major and planned gift prospects.
  • Identify and lead strategic opportunities for donor cultivation and stewardship events. Actively participate in event execution and support immediate donor follow-up as appropriate.
  • Participation in staff projects and other assignments.
