About The Position

Supports the collection, analysis, and maintenance of geospatial data to assist in mapping, reporting, and decision-making processes. Performs routine GIS tasks including data entry, map production, and database management under general supervision. Will ideally take on roles developing field applications and interactive online maps.

Requirements

• Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online)
• Proficiency in data entry, map production, and database management
• Ability to perform basic spatial analysis and data validation
• Experience converting data between formats (CAD, shapefiles, geodatabases, etc.)
• Experience collecting field data using GPS or mobile GIS applications
• Ability to maintain metadata and ensure data accuracy/quality control
• Skills in assisting staff with GIS-related requests and troubleshooting
• Ability to support GIS applications and tools

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and maintain spatial data (points, lines, polygons)
• Update and manage GIS databases and geodatabases
• Perform basic spatial analysis and data validation
• Convert data between formats (CAD, shapefiles, geodatabases, etc.)
• Produce maps (including web maps) for internal departments and public use
• Collect field data using GPS or mobile GIS applications
• Maintain metadata and ensure data accuracy/quality control
• Assist staff with GIS-related requests and troubleshooting
• Support GIS applications and tools (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online)
