About The Position

Aerostar Environmental and Construction LLC is expanding its workforce! We are searching for a proficient GIS Technician (Summer Intern) to join our growing environmental business line. This Intern will support the Jacksonville office and staff through GIS analysis and map production, GPS deployment and fieldwork, and data migration, organization, and file management within the ArcGIS Online platform. The intern will also assist technical staff with daily field activities (e.g., gopher tortoise surveys, well monitoring, wetland flagging) as needed. This position is located in Jacksonville, FL.

Requirements

• Academic level exposure to GIS programs

Responsibilities

• Produce GIS maps and figures for environmental and natural resource projects.
• Support GPS setup, deployment, field data collection, and post-processing.
• Assist with data migration and management in ArcGIS Online.
• Maintain geospatial data organization and support GIS workflows and staff needs.
• Provide general support for GIS software/hardware and field operations.
