About The Position

This is a temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position available in Capital Planning and Design. The position is available on or after September 7, 2026, and will end on or before May 31, 2027. There is a possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
  • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Current Stanislaus State student (must be at Junior level or higher).
  • Geography Major or MSIS – Geospatial Analysis preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of GIS, GPS and Remote Sensing and experience using ArcGIS.
  • Familiarity of other campus mapping projects preferred.
  • Possess excellent customer service skills, motivation, dependability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work on projects with minimal supervision and/or with a team.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and maintain GIS database, utilizing Trimble GPS equipment and software to locate campus information.
  • Import CAD data from existing campus files for some projects.
  • Collect information by field survey to update campus maps, such as utilities, trees, floor plans and other campus features.
  • Maintain and update the campus space allocation drawings.
  • Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
