About The Position

We're looking for a curious, dependable team player who can turn data into practical tools that help City Utilities work smarter. This role supports the GIS and work order systems used to manage utility assets, projects, maintenance, and daily operations. Use your GIS and technology skills to support essential water and sewer services. You'll work on meaningful projects, learn new systems, and help improve the infrastructure Fort Wayne depends on every day.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in GIS, Computer Science, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
  • Three to six years of GIS experience
  • Experience with spatial data management and web mapping applications
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Valid Indiana driver's license if operating a City vehicle

Nice To Haves

  • GIS training or certification
  • ESRI ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online
  • Trimble Work Order Management or a similar system
  • Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, and Excel
  • Power BI, SQL, Python, Arcade, APIs, or Model Builder

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain GIS maps, dashboards, applications, and databases
  • Collect, update, analyze, and verify geographic and utility asset data
  • Support Trimble Work Order Management configuration, testing, upgrades, and troubleshooting
  • Work with engineering and operations teams to improve data, processes, and reporting
  • Assist with automation, system integrations, technical support, and user training
