About The Position

The GIS Product Manager owns an assigned product or system area from discovery through delivery, adoption, and outcome realization. This individual-contributor role is accountable for product outcomes within the strategic direction, capacity, and architecture boundaries established by GIS Leadership. The manager translates needs from Sales, Customer Success, Finance, and other internal teams into defined problems, measurable product goals, initiative recommendations, and an ordered, delivery-ready backlog. The role makes day-to-day product and delivery decisions within the approved direction and recommends future roadmap investments to the GIS Product Lead, GIS Leadership, and applicable business leadership. The GIS Product Manager defines initiative problems, business impact, goals, and success criteria; leads stakeholder discovery; assesses business value, risk, dependencies, feasibility, and capacity; and maintains the assigned systems’ backlog. The manager partners with architects, developers, and stakeholders from discovery through release, leads user acceptance testing and release readiness, and remains accountable for adoption and business outcomes after launch. The role communicates progress, blockers, decisions, and unplanned work in business terms and keeps product documentation accurate and complete. This is a remote role in a fast-paced, high-ambiguity environment involving multiple initiatives and geographically dispersed teams across time zones. Travel requirements are to be confirmed by the hiring manager and HR.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of product owner, product management, or business systems experience supporting enterprise applications.
  • Experience owning priorities and a delivery-ready backlog for an assigned product or system area in an Agile environment with competing stakeholder demands.
  • Experience partnering with architects and developers from discovery through release.
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems, ERP systems, and other business systems and how they connect, sufficient to explain their capabilities and translate between business and technical audiences.
  • Ability to define business problems, assess impact and risk, and identify upstream and downstream effects before recommending initiatives.
  • Ability to lead discovery conversations, assess request readiness, and document findings for solution evaluation and delivery.
  • Ability to translate approved product goals into requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and value statements and validate them with stakeholders.
  • Ability to make day-to-day product decisions independently and provide reasoned recommendations on decisions affecting roadmap direction, capacity, architecture, or approved outcomes.
  • Ability to define measurable success criteria before work begins and evaluate adoption, process performance, stakeholder feedback, and business outcomes after release.
  • Comfort using AI-assisted tools such as Claude or Copilot to draft acceptance criteria, summaries, and status updates while validating outputs and following company data-handling policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce and Zuora, or connected tools such as HubSpot, Gong, Pendo, DocuSign, or Conga.
  • Experience supporting Sales, Customer Success, RevOps, Finance, or Billing teams.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full lifecycle of an assigned product or system area, from discovery and problem definition through delivery, adoption, and outcome realization.
  • Define the problem statement, business impact, product goal, and measurable success criteria for each initiative before work begins.
  • Develop initiative recommendations and recommend roadmap priorities and investment trade-offs based on business value, risk, dependencies, technical feasibility, and available capacity.
  • Make day-to-day product and delivery decisions within approved direction, capacity, and architecture standards, escalating decisions that materially change approved outcomes or affect other products.
  • Lead stakeholder discovery, maintain business relationships, uncover underlying needs, and document impact, risks, and upstream and downstream effects.
  • Determine whether requests are sufficiently defined to enter discovery and when additional stakeholder validation is needed.
  • Own value and business-viability questions in discovery and partner with the Enterprise Architect or Developer Anchor on usability and feasibility before development starts.
  • Translate business needs into clear requirements and explain technical constraints and trade-offs in business terms.
  • Own backlog order and readiness for assigned systems, including requirements, acceptance criteria, value statements, and documented dependencies; sequence approved work independently within the assigned area.
  • Make day-to-day delivery and scope-clarification decisions, including story- and feature-level trade-offs that do not materially change the approved outcome; escalate material changes to relevant product and business leadership.
  • Lead user acceptance testing and release readiness with stakeholders and determine whether delivered work meets business requirements.
  • Remain accountable after release for adoption and outcome realization; communicate with stakeholders, gather feedback, assess results against success criteria, and determine relevant product or process metrics.
  • Use outcome data to recommend follow-up improvements, backlog changes, or future roadmap investments.
  • Communicate progress, blockers, decisions, and unplanned work in business terms and maintain accurate, complete product documentation.
