About The Position

HNTB is seeking a GIS Intern for Summer 2027 in its West Florida office, with locations listed in Tallahassee and Tampa, Florida. Under close supervision, the intern assists departments with basic assignments in areas including science, planning, and technology. The role is usually part-time, temporary, or co-op. Relocation and housing are not provided, and visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a related undergraduate or graduate program.

Nice To Haves

• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for technology, particularly GIS.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.
• Interest in learning about and staying current on transportation planning.
• Familiarity with GIS applications including FieldMaps, Experience Builder, and ArcGIS Pro.
• Ability to communicate effectively through visual and written documentation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Strong interest in transportation, infrastructure, and the environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist project team members with various support tasks.
• Conduct basic research and data collection.
• Maintain records, collections, and files related to specific projects.
• Assist in developing graphics, presentation materials, and reports.
• Assist project team members with support tasks such as developing maps, exhibits, presentation materials, and reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
