About The Position

Storti Quality has an immediate need for GIS Technicians to oversee the collection of GPS data used to create digital as-built drawings for the utility industry. The technician will collect data using Locusview equipment to record tracking and traceability data for utility company assets. Compensation starts at $32.14 per hour.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of related experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent computer and communication skills.
• Experience with Locusview.
• Knowledge of GIS as it relates to Local Government, Public Works, and Civil Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, collect, organize, and input data to maintain and enhance the GIS database, including field research and GPS data collection and processing.
• Assist with interpreting as-built drawings, construction plans, engineering plans, recorded maps, deeds, legal descriptions, imagery, and related source documents, and incorporate them into GIS through methods including digitizing.
• Assist in maintaining GIS layers, including parcels, easements, rights-of-way, other development layers, interior space, and utility infrastructure layers such as water and sewer systems.
• Follow quality assurance and quality control processes and perform routine data management tasks, including data validation and correction, queries, and GIS editing, to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and completeness.
• Assist with GIS and data analysis; prepare and execute queries; and produce maps, spreadsheets, graphs, and other analytical reports.
