About The Position

STV is seeking a GIS Analyst to join our Digital Advisory department in one of our major Texas office locations. This role involves assisting with GIS and data analysis, preparing and executing queries, and producing analytical products such as maps, spreadsheets, and graphs. The analyst will develop and manage interactive web maps, dashboards, and data-driven applications using ArcGIS Online and related tools. Responsibilities include performing advanced spatial analysis, supporting data analytics workflows for infrastructure planning, and preparing, collecting, organizing, and inputting data to maintain and enhance the company's GIS. The role also involves interpreting various source documents like as-built drawings, construction plans, deeds, and legal descriptions, and incorporating them into GIS using methods such as coordinate geometry (COGO), digitizing, and GPS. Creating and maintaining multiple GIS layers, including parcels, streets, right-of-way, floodplain, development layers, and water and sewer system layers, is also a key function. The analyst will follow quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) processes, performing routine data management tasks to ensure GIS data accuracy, integrity, and completeness. Additionally, the role supports subject matter experts in regulatory reporting to meet client mapping standards and templates, and maintains and updates geospatial databases to accurately reflect the location and attributes of utility assets. Creating, editing, and validating utility maps (water, sewer, electric, telecom) using GIS software to support design, planning, and field operations, and incorporating field-collected data (GPS, survey, SUE) and as-built drawings into GIS systems are also part of the responsibilities. The analyst will create custom maps that are cartographically sound, visually engaging, and effectively communicate complex spatial information to diverse audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, GIS&T, Geography, or a closely related field.
• 8-12 years of professional GIS experience.
• Proficiency with the ESRI suite of GIS software, including ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro.
• Strong experience with ArcGIS Online products, including Web AppBuilder, Experience Builder, and Dashboards.
• Familiarity with open-source GIS software.
• Experience with data visualization and geospatial data analytics.
• Strong attention to detail and data integrity, with the ability to perform QA/QC.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

• Follow quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) processes, performing routine data management tasks such as validation, correction, queries, and editing to ensure GIS data accuracy, integrity, and completeness.
• Support subject matter experts in regulatory reporting to meet client mapping standards and templates.
• Maintain and update geospatial databases to accurately reflect the location and attributes of utility assets.
• Create, edit, and validate utility maps (water, sewer, electric, telecom) using GIS software to support design, planning, and field operations.
