About The Position

The GIS Analyst will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining GIS applications, automated workflows, scripts, and data processes to improve efficiency and data quality. This role involves supporting integrations between GIS and enterprise systems, performing QA/QC processes, and developing data standards. The analyst will maintain GIS datasets related to campus infrastructure, utilities, facilities, buildings, and property assets, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Responsibilities include spatial data editing, maintenance, and updates using GIS, CAD, and BIM technologies. The position also involves creating maps, dashboards, reports, and spatial analyses to support operational needs and decision-making, as well as supporting GIS web applications and data services. Additionally, the GIS Analyst will support strategic initiatives, collaborate across departments, and provide technical guidance and training to internal users. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years professional experience.
  • Two years of GIS experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, engineering, or related fields.
  • Familiarity or experience with AutoCAD and/or BIM.
  • Familiarity with utilities and IT infrastructure, networks, and drone mapping.
  • Working knowledge of GIS devices and imagery.
  • The ability to read plats/legal descriptions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain GIS applications, automated workflows, scripts, and data processes.
  • Support integrations between GIS and enterprise systems.
  • Perform and coordinate QA/QC processes to identify discrepancies and reconcile information.
  • Develop, document, and maintain data standards, workflows, and procedures.
  • Maintain and oversee GIS datasets related to campus infrastructure, utilities, facilities, buildings, and property assets.
  • Perform spatial data editing, maintenance, reconciliation, and updates using GIS, CAD, BIM, and related technologies.
  • Compile, organize, and maintain spatial and tabular datasets from various sources.
  • Create maps, dashboards, reports, visualizations, and spatial analyses.
  • Support the configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of GIS web applications, mobile tools, and data services.
  • Support strategic initiatives involving campus space, infrastructure, and facilities data.
  • Collaborate across functional areas to ensure GIS data and workflows align with business and operational requirements.
  • Provide technical support, guidance, and training to internal users related to GIS resources, applications, and workflows.
  • Respond to stakeholder requests for maps, data, and spatial analysis support.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
