SNA seeks a bright, collaborative GIS Analyst with a strong work ethic to join its team, which works to build a safe and just world by empowering organizations in the use of forensics, biometrics, and identity intelligence. The GIS Analyst is located within DPAA’s Indo-Pacific Directorate and conducts geospatial research and field surveys to advance casework and identify sites associated with missing military personnel. This is a short-term, six-month position that is 100% onsite in Hawaii. The position involves complex geospatial research and analysis into the status of missing American service personnel from past wars. Work includes documentary research, imagery georeferencing and acquisition, data management, datum conversion, historical document interpretation, geographically bounded studies, field surveys and mapping, witness interviews, method recommendations, map production, and briefings to Agency leadership. The Analyst advances investigations through data, archival, and field research; provides GIS and remote-sensing expertise; and synthesizes geospatial, historical, and archaeological datasets to develop cases. The Analyst collaborates with researchers and geospatial analysts, supports field and remote-sensing operations, debriefs field personnel, and contributes findings to reports and the body of knowledge surrounding cases. The role also involves communication with foreign representatives, embassies, and casualty or mortuary offices; direct and independent work with clients; and occasional national and international travel as required by the Agency. Recurring duties are completed independently, while deviations, problems, or unfamiliar situations are referred to a supervisor. The Analyst follows client policies and procedures and performs other duties as assigned.
