About The Position

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking a GIS Analyst for our Geographic Information Systems Department in Wall, NJ. This role involves creating, maintaining, and analyzing spatial datasets for engineering, planning, and environmental projects. The analyst will produce cartographic products, perform spatial analyses, support field data collection, and manage GIS data. Collaboration with project teams and assistance in developing automated GIS processes are also key aspects of the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, Planning, or related field.
  • 2 to 4 years of professional GIS experience, preferably within the A/E/C (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry.
  • Experience with utility asset inventory management systems for tracking, maintaining, and managing infrastructure assets.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and related ESRI software.
  • Experience with GPS data collection and mobile GIS applications.
  • Knowledge of spatial analysis techniques, coordinate systems, and data management best practices.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with CAD/GIS integration is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and analyze spatial datasets in support of engineering, planning, and environmental projects.
  • Produce high-quality cartographic products, exhibits, and mapping deliverables for proposals, reports, and public presentations.
  • Perform spatial analyses, including proximity, overlay, network, and terrain modeling.
  • Support field data collection efforts using GPS and mobile GIS applications.
  • Manage and organize GIS data to ensure accuracy, currency, and consistency across projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers, planners, and environmental scientists to integrate GIS into project workflows.
  • Assist in the development of automated GIS processes and tools to increase efficiency.
