Raleigh Water, a leading utility within the City of Raleigh, is responsible for providing exceptional water and wastewater services to the City of Raleigh service area, including the Towns of Garner, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Knightdale, Wendell, and Zebulon. Our GIS team plays a critical role in supporting operations, planning, and decision-making by maintaining accurate and high-quality geospatial data. The GIS Analyst, Senior focuses on developing, improving, and standardizing GIS data editing workflows to support the accuracy, integrity, and usability of utility data across Raleigh Water’s systems. This role provides technical guidance to GIS staff, establishes best practices, and ensures efficient and consistent data management for both operational and planning needs. The position includes supporting the editing and maintenance of utility network datasets, contributing to indoor GIS initiatives using ArcGIS Indoors, and assisting with field data collection efforts using GPS, LiDAR, and drone technologies. The Senior GIS Analyst also performs spatial analysis, creates high-quality maps and applications, and provides technical support and training for GIS and non-GIS staff. You enjoy working with GIS data and tools, guiding and mentoring others, and contributing hands-on to editing, analysis, and mapping. You are collaborative, adaptable, and eager to stay current with GIS technologies, including ArcGIS Utility Network, ArcGIS Indoors, and field data collection tools. A background or interest in water and wastewater utility systems is preferred, and you are motivated by making GIS workflows and data management processes more effective for the organization.
