About The Position

The GIS Analyst processes and maintains geospatial pipeline data supporting the execution of pipeline projects, pipeline operations, pipeline integrity, and pipeline regulatory compliance. Is proficient in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures and assists other GIS staff. Demonstrates the ability to take on larger assignments, while maintaining efficiencies and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field.
  • Experience working with GIS data in a branch versioned, ESRI ArcGIS enterprise geodatabase containing a LRS configured with ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing (APR)
  • Proficient with ESRI ArcGIS Pro, and Microsoft Office Products.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple job requests in a timely manner.
  • Works well as a member of a group or team.
  • Proactive worker who holds others accountable.
  • Possess an eye for detail and design.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to pipeline GIS data supporting pipeline projects, pipeline operations, pipeline integrity and pipeline regulatory compliance.
  • Working knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS for AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge and experience working in Esri’s Utility and Pipeline Data Model (UPDM)
  • Utility or Pipeline industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Create and edit/maintain accurate pipeline GIS data required by a Linear Referencing System (LRS) in an enterprise geodatabase
  • Extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources/formats into the enterprise GIS, including pipeline as-built, in-line inspection, and AutoCAD data, etc.
  • Perform ArcGIS spatial analysis and geoprocessing to generate spreadsheets, data tables, statistics, and project deliverables
  • Review GIS data for completeness and accuracy by applying established quality control (QC) procedures
  • Identify missing data, data differences, or project concerns and work with applicable DTM teams on solutions
  • Support the preparation of annual reports to FERC, (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission), PHMSA, (Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration), and appropriate state Public Utility Commissions
  • Continually identify opportunities for improvement in the way work is performed, share expertise and lessons learned
