About The Position

American Heritage School is seeking a Girls Volleyball Middle School Head Coach who is passionate about both volleyball excellence and helping students grow physically, spiritually, socially, and intellectually. This position is considered a faith-forming role within American Heritage School. In addition to quality volleyball instruction, coaches are expected to actively support, model, and teach principles consistent with the Mission and values of AHS and the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Requirements

  • Volleyball background.
  • Coach experience preferred.
  • An enduring love of youth and a genuine passion for teaching and learning.
  • Ability to use sports as a tool to build better disciples of Jesus Christ and Christian character.
  • Commitment to actively participate in and contribute to a faith-based educational environment aligned with the teachings and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
  • Strong communication and team management skills.
  • High energy and a warm, consistent presence at practices and performances.
  • Willingness to continue learning and growing professionally.
  • Alignment with and support of the school's religious mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality volleyball instruction.
  • Support, model, and teach principles consistent with the Mission and values of AHS and the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
  • Prepare and deliver practices built from quality practice plans.
  • Establish and communicate clear learning objectives.
  • Use a variety of coaching and teaching methods.
  • Integrate faith-based principles and moral reasoning into sport instruction where appropriate.
  • Serve as an example of Christian character and discipleship to students.
  • Support and uphold the spiritual mission of the school through daily interactions with students and colleagues.
  • Respond thoughtfully to student questions related to faith, values, and moral decision-making in a manner consistent with the school's mission.
  • Be professional in appearance and demeanor.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the AHS Mission, Honor Code, and Diversity Statement on and off campus.
  • Ensure personal conduct, public statements, and online presence reflect and support the school's religious mission and educational purpose.
