About The Position

Annapolis Area Christian School (AACS) is seeking a Girls Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach to lead the varsity program and collaborate with the Boys Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach to establish a unified culture, developmental standards, and long-term vision for lacrosse across the school. This role is an opportunity to shape the future of lacrosse at AACS, building a program focused on excellent training, strong family relationships, and long-term player development. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical lacrosse knowledge, a developmental mindset, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with players and families, with a commitment to forming young women who pursue excellence, humility, and perseverance.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated technical and tactical expertise in lacrosse coaching.
  • Prior coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level preferred.
  • Coaching certifications or willingness to obtain them.
  • Ability to mentor young athletes and cultivate meaningful relationships with families.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to drive a school mini-bus (standard driver’s license required).
  • Commitment to strict child protection policies and safety protocols.
  • Be an active member of a local Christian church.
  • Affirm and sign the school’s Statement of Faith.
  • Demonstrate a life consistent with Christian leadership and discipleship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Girls Varsity Lacrosse program.
  • Establish and maintain a strong culture aligned with the mission of the school.
  • Collaborate with the Boys Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach and middle school coaches to ensure developmental alignment from grades 6–12.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model for middle school coaches.
  • Build relationships with local clubs and recreational programs to connect students.
  • Design and implement training sessions emphasizing technical growth, tactical understanding, and character formation.
  • Foster an environment of disciplined training and continuous improvement.
  • Support multi-sport athletes and encourage balanced student development.
  • Ensure all matches are filmed and use game film as a tool for player development, team analysis, and program improvement.
  • Incorporate video review into training and development conversations with players.
  • Work closely with the Athletic Director and Assistant Athletic Director on game scheduling, player development pathways, college recruitment advising, and off-season training opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with players and their families.
  • Partner with families and local churches in the development of student-athletes.
  • Contribute to a unified school culture where athletics, arts, and academics support one another.
  • Collaborate with coaches and staff within the athletic department.
  • Uphold in-season strength and conditioning participation.
  • Encourage optional off-season development opportunities.
