About The Position

The Public Schools of Brookline (PSB) is seeking a Girls Track and Field Coach for the Spring Intramural Season. PSB serves over 7,500 students in Kindergarten to grade 12 across eight elementary schools and one high school. The district is committed to ensuring every student develops the skills and knowledge to pursue a productive and fulfilling life, participate thoughtfully in a democracy, and succeed in a diverse and evolving global society.

Requirements

Knowledge of rules and understanding of middle school athletics.
Concussion awareness training certification.
CORI verification and fingerprinting process.
Current authorization to work in the United States.
All employees must be vaccinated and maintain full vaccination as a condition of employment or work as an on-site vendor/contractor, unless they receive approval for a documented medical or religious exemption.

Relevant coaching experience working with Student Athletes.

Responsibilities

Planning and implementing all team activities.
Collaborating with the District Intramural Coordinators to participate in games, meets, competitions.
Communicating necessary information with all athletes and families.
Working with the Building Sports Coordinator to implement rules and regulations.
Developing sports-specific skills for all players.
Modeling sportsmanship, good sports conduct, and an inclusive environment.
Providing a positive atmosphere for all players, coaches, and spectators.
Encouraging school spirit.
Setting strategies to offset lopsided scoring and encourage full participation.
