About The Position

The Elma School District is accepting applications for the 2026-2027 Elma Middle School Girls Soccer Assistant Coach position. This is an extracurricular position with a salary stipend range of $2,475.72 - $2,694.12, which will be updated per the EEA CBA Salary Schedule for 2026-2027. The season is expected to start around September 1, 2026.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be at least 19 years old.
  • Must have a WSP/FBI fingerprint background clearance check.
  • Must have a valid First Aid/CPR Certification Card.
  • Meet the WIAA coaching standard criteria.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the sport skill, strategy and rules.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and community.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • The safety and health of students and others are essential functions of this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous middle school coaching experience.
  • Previous soccer participation and/or coaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct leadership and organization for all levels of the assigned sport/activity.
  • Provide direct ongoing supervision of all athletes, manage before/during/after all practices/conditioning sessions, games/travel, and other school-sanctioned events.
  • Develop appropriate objectives for the assigned sport/activity.
  • Maintain knowledge of league and district rules and regulations related directly to the assigned sport/activity, student participation, and parent/community involvement.
  • Continually teach and emphasize safety procedures and precautions to all athletes.
  • Report all injuries to the Head Coach, Athletic Director, and complete appropriate report(s).
  • Immediately report all violations or suspected violations of established rules and regulations to the Head Coach and Athletic Director.
  • Organize and conduct, in coordination with the Head Coach and Athletic Director, parent meetings prior to the season and provide ongoing parent communication throughout the season.
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and the fundamental skills necessary to execute the program in a successful manner.
  • Assume the leadership role in relation to team organization, style of play, practice schedules, equipment, and assigned responsibilities.
  • Assume responsibility for clearing all athletes who are returning to play after an injury through the Athletic Director.
  • Monitor student compliance with all provisions of the ESD #68 Athletic Code and comply with WIAA Rules and Regulations.
  • Organize awards and recognition for athletes/participants.
  • Responsible for a clean and orderly storage facility.
