About The Position

This position is for a Girls Head Wrestling Coach for the 2026/2027 school year. The coach will be responsible for coaching student athletic programs, specifically wrestling. Key duties include organizing and supervising the total sports program, maintaining good rapport with students, employees, community members, and vendors, and upholding ethical behavior and confidentiality. The role is exempt from FLSA, supervises no one, and is part of the Athletics department. The work calendar and FTE (Full-Time Equivalent) vary, and it is classified as a supplemental grade position.

Requirements

  • Valid Arizona teacher certification, or Arizona coaching certification, or Level 1 Certification issued by National Federation of High School Associations (NFHS) (This requirement is only for Head/Varsity positions)
  • Previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
  • Obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Completion of NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Course.
  • Completion of NFHS Heat Illness Prevention Course.
  • Completion of NFHS Concussion in Sports.
  • Knowledge of standard practices, methods and materials of assigned work.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of uses and properties of supplies and equipment.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles.
  • Knowledge of specialized equipment relevant to area of assignment.
  • Knowledge of modern office technology.
  • Skill in following directions and meeting standards.
  • Skill in providing attention to detail in assignments.
  • Skill in comprehending reference books and manuals.
  • Skill in organizing and maintaining supplies.
  • Skill in providing customer service.
  • Skill in utilizing a computer and relevant software applications.
  • Skill in utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, the general public and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

  • Coach student athletes in area of assigned responsibility.
  • Organize and supervise a total sports program.
  • Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
