About The Position

The PRIMARY FUNCTION of this role is to develop and implement an exemplary athletic program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student athlete. This includes professional performance responsibilities such as complying with school policies, working cooperatively with staff, relating positively to parents and the community, demonstrating professional growth, being prompt with records and reports, demonstrating command of standard English, accepting responsibilities related to the school and community, caring for materials and facilities, and ensuring a neat and safe environment for student athletes. Instructional performance involves interpersonal relations, subject matter knowledge, planning and materials, and techniques/delivery.

Requirements

Prior coaching experience preferred.

Demonstrate knowledge of the area being coached.
Demonstrate the ability to adjust instruction of strategy and fundamentals to student athlete’s needs and interests.
Maintain an organized basketball program based on effective long-range plans.
Exhibit evidence of effective planning and organization.
Utilize a variety of appropriate strategies and resources.
Communicate fundamental coaching expectations and their importance to students.
Utilize appropriate and varied coaching techniques and learning activities.
Maintain an effective system of monitoring student progress and to inform appropriate persons.
