About The Position

This position is responsible for preparing various food, drink, and baked goods for customers at Ginna's Cafe. The role involves performing all cafe functions, maintaining knowledge of recipes and food safety guidelines, and ensuring adherence to Scheels' standards. The associate will also manage stocking, cleaning, and opening/closing procedures, while maintaining a clean and orderly workspace and dining area. Communication skills are important for interacting with customers and interpreting documents like operating manuals and safety rules.

Requirements

  • High school education, or up to one month of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare different types of food, drinks, and baked goods, for sale to customers
  • Perform all Ginna’s Cafe functions, which may include deli line, food case, barista, grill, baked goods, and other duties as assigned by the Café Manager and Supervisor
  • Maintain working knowledge of Café recipes, beverages, and prepared foods
  • Follow all food safety guidelines by Scheels, State, and Local Ordinances
  • Ensure all products are received and stored according to Standard Operating Guidelines
  • Ensure Scheels Cashier Guidelines are followed as it pertains to Café registers
  • Manage and support side work, stocking, daily and detailed cleaning schedules, including machines and equipment, and opening and closing procedures
  • Maintain an orderly and exceptionally clean appearance of personal workspace and surrounding areas, including dining areas
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to work assigned schedule, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays
