About The Position

The Gifts Sales Associate performs selling and customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience by demonstrating products, maintaining product knowledge, replenishing and restocking merchandise, maintaining advertised pricing and signage, and assisting with seasonal floor merchandise moves. The associate helps customers make buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs, recommending products, and promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up. The position works under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and make recommendations about work procedures, policies, and practices. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change for customers.
• Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and other associates.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
• Ability to stand and/or walk constantly during the shift.
• Ability to occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, or similar structures.
• Ability to constantly communicate with others to exchange information.
• Ability to occasionally perform repeated motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Ability to occasionally operate machinery and/or power tools, and motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
• Ability to move objects up to 20 pounds constantly and occasionally move and lift objects up to 100 pounds or more, using a team lift as needed.
• Ability to occasionally work in tight or confined spaces and noisy environments.

Responsibilities

• Support world-class customer service and ensure a pleasant and productive shopping experience.
• Demonstrate products to customers.
• Maintain product expertise through ongoing product knowledge training.
• Replenish and restock products according to merchandising guidelines and as required.
• Stay knowledgeable about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and well stocked with supplies.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Identify and evaluate customers’ needs and make product recommendations based on that analysis.
• Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
