About The Position

The Gift Shop Clerk provides exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, hospital staff, and volunteers. The role supports daily retail operations, maintains merchandise displays, processes transactions accurately, and helps create a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the patient and visitor experience. The clerk also supports volunteers and performs other duties as assigned. Work is performed primarily inside a central air medical facility. The position involves frequent standing and reaching, along with walking, sitting, lifting and carrying objects, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and bending. The role requires good near and distance vision and the ability to hear alarms, the client call system, and staff. Potential hazards include exposure to infectious body fluids and noxious fumes or odors, as well as risks of electrical shock.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Previous retail sales experience.
Experience with marketing through social media.

Responsibilities

Greet and assist customers in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
Operate the POS/cash register and accurately process cash, credit card, and payroll deduction payments.
Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts.
Gift wrap purchases as needed.
Restock shelves and assist with inventory management.
Deliver gifts to staff and/or patients.
Take phone orders and check out as necessary.
Assist with pricing and tagging new merchandise.
Answer questions about merchandise, pricing, and gift options.
Perform store opening and closing tasks.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked store.
Provide support to volunteers and delegate tasks as necessary.
Assist with seasonal displays and promotional events.
Perform other duties as assigned.
