A GI Technician who excels in this role: Assesses the needs of the GI procedure and provides supplies, instruments, and equipment appropriate to the patient, surgeon, and GI procedure. Ensures the resources are available to implement the plan of care during the GI procedure Demonstrates knowledge and technical skills appropriate to implement the step-by-step process of specific GI procedures Demonstrates appropriate communication skills in all aspects of the position. Demonstrates teamwork in all aspects of the position Documents patient care activities. Performs clerical skills.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Nursing Assistant-Certified (NA-C) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Nursing Assistant-Certified (NA-C) required
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse population.
  • Recent experience as an NA-C is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of college
  • Graduate from accredited program for Surgical Technologist preferred.
  • Recent experience as OB, GI or Surgical Tech preferred.
