About The Position
The GI Tech assists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under the direction of a registered nurse and physician. The role includes implementing the established plan of care, responding to emergencies, setting up procedures, maintaining supplies and equipment, and processing and reprocessing endoscopes. The employee must meet departmental on-call criteria and is expected to float to other GI Lab locations. The position is based in Glenview, Illinois, with the ability to float to other Endeavor locations. It is full-time, with hours of 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, an occasional Saturday rotation, and an on-call rotation that includes nights, weekends, and holidays. The posted hourly pay range is $21.10–$30.60, with the rate determined in part by expertise and years of experience. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is available for candidates with one year of Endo/GI experience; parameters apply.
Requirements
- CPR BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Basic knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology.
- Basic computer experience.
- Ability to take vital signs and perform CPR.
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a Patient Care Tech, Nursing Assistant, or Medical Assistant is highly preferred.
- One year of Endo/GI experience qualifies candidates for the sign-on bonus, subject to applicable parameters.
Responsibilities
- Assist under the direction of the RN in implementing the established plan of care.
- Assist the physician and RN during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Respond to emergency situations.
- Set up procedures and maintain supplies and equipment.
- Process and reprocess endoscopes.
- Meet on-call criteria as defined by the department.
- Float to other GI Lab locations.
