About The Position

This role is responsible for managing technical publications and integrated logistics support (ILS). The position involves leading the planning, development, review, and updating of technical publications such as AMMs, CMMs, SRMs, and Service Bulletins. It also includes leading and managing the development, review, and approval of repair, assembly, and disassembly procedures based on approved engineering drawings and source data. A key aspect is ensuring full compliance with applicable standards, including ATA iSpec 2200 and S1000D, and overseeing the use of technical writing tools and content management systems. The role also ensures that documentation protects intellectual property and the company's business interests, while guaranteeing the quality, consistency, and integrity of all technical publication deliverables. Additionally, the position leads and executes ILS activities, including aircraft operations and maintenance review (AMOR), spare parts engineering and provisioning, ground support equipment (GSE) definition and support, and training needs analysis and development of training materials. It involves analyzing engineering documentation to develop best practices and maintenance procedures for landing gear systems and ensuring effective integration between ILS deliverables and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aerospace, or a related field, combined with a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a technical writer, with a strong technical background in the aerospace industry.
  • Solid working knowledge of aviation technical publications and their lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated expertise in ATA 2200 and/or S1000D standards.
  • Good understanding of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) principles and maintenance concepts.
  • Good understanding of modification factors, interchangeability requirements, and configuration management.
  • Proficiency in CATIA, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), FrameMaker, and the ability to quickly learn and adopt new tools and technologies.
  • Good knowledge of SGML and XML publishing languages.
  • Previous leadership or personnel management experience.
  • Excellent technical writing and editing skills in English.
  • Good judgment, leadership, and strong teamwork skills.
  • Customer focus and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and approved technical data.

Nice To Haves

  • Product development experience is considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience with landing gear assembly and repair are considered assets, as is customer support experience.
