About The Position

As a Controls Account Executive, you won’t just be selling equipment - you’ll be delivering intelligent, high-performance solutions that transform how buildings operate across the Greater Montreal Area. In this customer-facing, quota-carrying role, your primary mission is to drive sales growth, expand our market footprint, and solve complex building challenges. You will sit at the intersection of business development and technical sales, operating within a collaborative environment where you own your territory while leveraging the full backing of our technical and operational teams to win and deliver standout projects.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of outside sales experience within the Greater Montreal market
  • 2+ years of experience within the building automation industry
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to attend corporate meetings, training, and industry events

Nice To Haves

  • Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail paired with exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite; hands-on experience with technical estimating, design/engineering tools, and CRM platforms is a major plus (e.g., Bluebeam, BidTracer, Salesforce).

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and develop new Building Automation opportunities across the Greater Montreal Area using bid/specification platforms, construction databases, and active industry networking.
  • Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with building owners, consulting engineers, contractors, and end-users to position tailored building automation solutions.
  • Represent the company at client meetings, job sites, trade shows, and industry events to elevate our market presence and generate qualified, high-intent leads.
  • End-to-end ownership of the sales funnel - including targeted prospecting, opportunity qualification, solution positioning, custom proposal development, negotiation, and closing.
  • Rigorously review project documentation, perform detailed take-offs, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to build highly competitive, accurate proposals.
  • Diligently manage, track, and forecast opportunity pipelines, account activities, and performance metrics within CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Structure and negotiate contract terms and pricing aligned with overarching company strategy, margin expectations, and risk management standards.
  • Gather and translate market trends, competitive intelligence, and direct customer feedback into actionable insights to inform sales strategy and continuous operational improvement.
