About The Position

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a Configuration Management Professional to join our Airbus Canada team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will work with all company functions and various suppliers. You will be part of the Configuration Management Center of Competency (CoC CM), responsible for defining and deploying company strategies and processes for Configuration management of the Airbus Canada A220 program development. The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively. Your role as a Professional in Configuration Management will be to support the equipment change processes at Airbus Canada in the context of the A220 program, in a multi-disciplinary team and in strong relation with the complete community operating the configuration processes.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or possess an equivalent of seven (7) years of experience within a fast-paced and dynamic environment in the aerospace industry
  • Excellent configuration management skills and knowledge; including ARP4754
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Able to simplify, vulgarize complex topics and summarize risk, key actions and next steps, while using your own knowledge, experience and network
  • Excellent verbal communication skills (French/English) to share the philosophy, rules and practices of configuration management and to supervise work sessions
  • Ability to foster internal connections and drive influence with external stakeholders
  • Creative and able to lead a team outside of established practice if necessary to find the optimal solutions
  • Shown initiative, a strong sense of responsibility and accountability and good, sound judgment
  • Good knowledge of project management

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and the maintenance of the equipment change processes, including the product identification aspect and change management
  • Support the development and deployment of the vision for the Configuration Management Transformation, in compliance with Processes, methods, tools and data strategic orientation of the company
  • To be a source of proposals enriching the roadmaps and vision of configuration management for Airbus Canada’s programs of today and tomorrow
  • Represent the Airbus Canada engineering department in the configuration management’s improvement and transformation forums and workshops
  • Develop proposals for strategic solutions/opportunities for improvement and, where appropriate, forward them to the team supervisor, project managers and configuration management board
  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of the development plan within the integrated transformation plan
