About The Position

Madonna University is seeking energetic Gerontology Nursing Clinical Instructors for their Accelerated Bachelor of Science of Nursing (ABSN) program in Southfield, MI. The primary responsibility is the clinical education of students in the ABSN program. Clinical Instructors will be assigned teaching responsibilities in a clinical area at partner healthcare facilities in the Southfield area. They are expected to contribute to student education, focusing on psychomotor skills, standards of practice, and critical thinking, thereby supporting the next generation of nurses in the community. Orbis Education partners with colleges and universities to expand their pre-licensure healthcare programs, leveraging expertise to produce high-quality graduates ready to meet workforce demands.

Requirements

• Current unencumbered RN license in Michigan or any compact state.
• Master of Science in Nursing.
• Two years of successful clinical nursing practice.
• Able to work 8-12 hour shifts in clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate effective student learning in the assigned clinical setting.
• Provide adequate guidance for students in the clinical setting related to professionalism, practice, and research.
• Select and organize learning activities which facilitate the student’s attainment of the course objectives.
• Ensure effective evaluations of student practice.
• Promote evidence-based practice.
• Provide a supportive learning environment by providing feedback on student progress to supervisory personnel.
• Collaborate with other faculty, administration, and with the healthcare partner and its staff.
• Attend all required orientation, training, and faculty meetings.
