About The Position

Averett University is seeking energetic Nursing Clinical Instructors for its Accelerated Bachelor of Science of Nursing (ABSN) program in Norfolk, VA. The primary responsibility is the clinical education of students in the ABSN program. Clinical Instructors will be assigned to clinical areas at partner healthcare facilities in the Norfolk area and are expected to contribute to student education, focusing on psychomotor skills, standards of practice, and critical thinking. This role supports the development of future nurses within the community. Orbis Education partners with colleges and universities to expand their pre-licensure healthcare programs, leveraging expertise to produce high-quality graduates ready for the workforce. This position is an academic partner role with Averett University's Accelerated BSN Program.

Requirements

• Current unencumbered RN license in Virginia or any compact state.
• Completed BSN.
• Two years of successful clinical nursing practice.
• Currently attending MSN.
• Able to work 8-12 hour shifts in a clinical setting.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of teaching experience.
• Master’s degree in nursing.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate effective student learning in the assigned clinical setting.
• Provide adequate guidance for students in the clinical setting related to professionalism, practice, and research.
• Select and organize learning activities that facilitate the student’s attainment of the course objectives.
• Ensure effective evaluations of student practice.
• Promote evidence-based practice.
• Provide a supportive learning environment by providing feedback on student progress to supervisory personnel.
• Collaborate with other faculty, administration, and with the healthcare partner and its staff.
• Attend all required orientation, training, and faculty meetings.
