About The Position

The Division of Seniors Health in the Department of Medicine is seeking a full-time associate. The successful applicant will have an opportunity to work with a highly specialized multi-disciplinary team with a keen focus on seeking to define a centre of excellence for senior’s care. Remuneration is fee-for-service as set by the OHIP Schedule of Benefits and Fees with options to apply under an ongoing alternative funding plan are available. The successful candidate will join the Division of Geriatrics presently staffed by six geriatricians with exciting opportunities for clinical work at a time when innovative re-design and provision of new services are planned or taking place.

Requirements

  • Certificate of Registration to practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
  • Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages are considered an asset as we serve a highly diverse population)
  • Successful applicants are expected to have a faculty appointment at an affiliated medical school.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Geriatric Medicine from the College of Physicians of Canada or hold a Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Rotation comprises inpatient on-call coverage at Osler’s two acute sites (Brampton Civic Hospital and Etobicoke General Hospital) and outpatient clinic services to six sub-specialized geriatric clinics at Peel Memorial
  • Provide clinical leadership to the Geriatric Outreach Team and the NP led outreach to long-term care homes.
