About The Position
Interim HealthCare is hiring a Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA), with CNA certification or other applicable credentials also considered, to provide personalized, home-based care to seniors. The role supports clients in living safely, comfortably, and independently at home through assistance with daily activities, personal care, mobility, and companionship. GNAs work independently while following individualized care plans and receiving support from the healthcare team. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.
Requirements
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification, where applicable.
- CNA certification or other applicable credentials may also be considered.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, reliable, and professional.
- Ability to work independently while following established care plans.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to clients’ homes.
- Ability to meet applicable background screening and employment requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with seniors or in home care is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide mobility assistance, transfers, and positioning support.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration.
- Offer companionship and emotional support.
- Monitor and report changes in clients’ conditions to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment.
- Follow individualized care plans and maintain accurate documentation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare team members.
