About The Position

Stella Maris is recruiting Geriatric Nursing Assistants to provide care to residents in its rehabilitation setting. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the GNA provides nursing care in accordance with the facility’s philosophy, policies, and procedures. The role includes meeting residents’ daily needs, responding to call lights, and caring for residents’ clothing, personal property, and environment. The position requires careful and efficient use of supplies, linens, and equipment.

The schedule is 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with an every-other-weekend requirement. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

Requirements

• Maryland GNA license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good nursing skills, patience, understanding, and a positive, caring attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality nursing care according to established routines and procedures to support residents’ comfort and safety.
• Accurately and promptly take and record residents’ vital signs, weight, intake and output, and other measurements.
• Assist assigned residents with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Maintain documentation in resident/patient charts according to facility protocol.
• Promptly answer residents’ call lights.
• Demonstrate knowledge of infection control and consistently practice standard precautions.
• Secure and care for residents’ clothing and personal property according to established routines.
• Use supplies, linens, and equipment carefully and efficiently.
