About The Position
EXP is seeking a Geotechnical Technician to join their Materials Testing group in their Windsor, ON office. This role involves carrying out various tests in the field and laboratories, maintaining equipment, assisting with certifications and record keeping, interacting with engineers, and operating testing equipment. The technician will also be responsible for writing field and laboratory result reports.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in field and Aggregate, testing Laboratory
- Field experience in concrete, earthworks and asphalt
- CCIL/CSA certified for field concrete testing (required)
- Strong communication skills and leadership capabilities
- Ability to work overtime in peak periods
- Excellent organizational skills and time management a must
- Proficiency with the windows operating system, Microsoft Excel
- Able to organize, prioritize, set and adjust priorities and schedules independently
Nice To Haves
- College diploma an asset
- laboratory certification an asset
Responsibilities
- Carrying out aggregate, soil tests in the field and within our Aggregate Laboratories
- Soil Identification and Examination of Subgrade Soils
- Insitu Density and Compaction Testing
- Concrete, Mortar and Grout Sampling and Testing
- Asphalt Sampling and Testing
- Ensuring field and laboratory equipment is maintained in good condition
- Assisting management team in field and laboratory certification, and record keeping
- Interacting with Materials and Geotechnical Engineers routinely
- Operating computerized and digital testing equipment
- Field and Laboratory result report writing
