About The Position

Intertek is seeking a Geotechnical Staff Engineer to join their Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Harlingen, Texas. This role will support the Rio Grande Valley and Corpus Christi Regions and offers an opportunity to grow a career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry. Intertek-PSI is a leading US-based provider of construction assurance, testing, and inspection in civil and commercial construction, with services including construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (BS) from an ABET accredited college or university in geotechnical, civil, or related engineering discipline.
Passed F.E. exam or scheduled to take within 6 months.
Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record.
Effective communication skills (written, verbal and listening) and solid interpersonal skills.
The ability to read and understand work plans.
Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed.
May travel up to 15% of time.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree (MS) from an ABET accredited college or university in geotechnical, civil, or related engineering discipline.
PE License is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of assignments including independent evaluations using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria, with judgment to make minor adoptions and modifications.
Prepare and review Engineering reports, project plans, and specifications prepared by others.
Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
Prepare proposals to provide professional services.
Review recommendations with Principal Consultant.
Maintain and leverage client relationships and develop new project opportunities.
Attend client site meetings and communicate effectively with client and project teams.
May work in the field/laboratory and perform on-site observations, sample collection, and specific tests.
