About The Position

Intertek is seeking a Geotechnical Project Engineer to join their Professional Service Industries (PSI) team in Houston, Texas. This role offers a career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry. Intertek's Building and Construction division provides assurance, testing, inspection, and consulting services. Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) specializes in construction assurance, testing, and inspection, with services including construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. The Geotechnical Project Engineer will perform evaluations using standard techniques and procedures, making minor adaptations as needed.

Requirements

Master's degree (MS) from an ABET accredited college or university in Geotechnical Engineering
5 years' progressive experience in geotechnical consulting
Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas
Valid driver's license and reliable driving record
Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
May travel up to 15% of time
Ability to read and understand work plans
Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal & written communication
Proficiency in engineering software in discipline (GeoStudio, LPILE, APILE, SHAFT, GROUP, SLIDE, Settle3D)

Nice To Haves

PhD from an ABET accredited college or university in Geotechnical Engineering
Experience with PLAXIS 2D and 3D

Responsibilities

Prepare geotechnical reports, scopes, budgets and schedules for projects as per specifications
Attend client site meetings and communicate effectively with client and project teams
Work on one or multiple projects at a time
May perform on-site observations or inspections
